Location

Paradise waits on St. Lucia’s exotic south coast, just a short drive from the Hewanorra International Airport and close to all of the island’s most enticing attractions.

Saint Lucia – Our Home

Our island offers an enticing mix of Caribbean beaches, tropical blue waters filled with reefs, lush rainforests and an interesting history. Visitors will find a seemingly endless array of activities within the island’s unparalleled natural attractions. Tourism on the island is low profile compared to many of the other Caribbean destinations; consequently St. Lucia remains not only pristine, but also very relaxed and friendly. Among the many great assets of the glorious low-key island is a welcoming population that enjoys sharing information about their island home and culture.

  • St. Lucian’s speak English, which is the official language, and also a French Creole commonly called patois.
  • Same time zone (EST) as the east coast of the USA (Miami/New York) during daylight savings time (approximately April-October) and one hour ahead of the east coast of the USA the remainder of the year.
  • The Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC$) is the official currency, although US Dollars are commonly accepted.

History

Before being purchased in 2004 by Jamaican hotelier and businessman Gary “Butch” Hendrickson, the property stood empty for two years following the events of 9/11. After a multimillion-dollar renovation including: room refurbishment, redeveloped common areas, extensive landscaping and newly constructed water park including pools, slides and lazy river, the resort reopened in 2005 as Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa.
